About Time

i lived
thirty-four years
believing
my happiness
depended on other
people
things
places

i no longer need
a person
a thing
a place
to guarantee
my happiness

but rather,
i choose to be
unaltered by
people
things
places

i choose to be
unattached
in order
to be happy

About justbrinkley
